David Lester. Live in Frisco, Texas. Mostly white but also 1/32 Choctaw (with the card to prove it) and a little bit of other stuff. I'm a married father of 2 and stepfather of 2. Divorced once after 19 years of marriage. Currently I have been married for 4 years. I am not rich but I'm not poor. I get by like most Americans. Retirement is only a dream for me.

I am running for President of the United States of America in 2024.

In 2024 unless someone else comes along we can all get behind. If we do find that person, I'll let you know.

I am running in the great United States of America. The greatest non-perfect country in the world. Nobody has ever said we don't still have problems. Lingering problems. There's no denying the sins of the past had an effect on the future. We need to figure out a way to right those wrongs without causing more wrongs. You can't fix racism with more racism. You can't fix sexism with more sexism. You can't fight evil with more evil. You have to fight all of that with what's good.

This last election put me over the edge. Neither of the two major party candidates seem like they care about everyday people. They both act like they do. They both give lip service to whomever they're talking to at any one time. I voted for the closest candidate to what I support, even though she was not everything I wanted. I am tired of politics today. I am tired of crazy high medical expenses. I am tired of the fighting. I'm tired of the lying.

We've had career politicians and rich businessmen politicians and hollywood celebrity politicians. It's time for a regular American to take over the office. Someone that knows what it's like to be in the middle. Someone that hasn't been in the public eye. A real person with a realistic view on what it's like to live in this country.

Like Lincoln said in the Gettysburg address, "...and that government of the people, by the people, for the people..." I'm one of those people and I will have the people's best interest in mind.

Voting - All US Citizens need to vote and we should make it as easy as possible to vote. It should be a national holiday and we should have a secure and safe way to vote by mail.

Healthcare - It should be affordable and what we have now is not affordable. We were starting to get there with price transparency, but there is so much more to do. Reduce prices by taking the government out of it at the level we are in it today. We are subsidizing medical costs and the hospitals and drug companies are taking advantage of that and getting away with charging $10 for a single aspirin. Of course we need to have a system in place to help Americans that can’t afford it, but we need to keep that price as low as possible. We need to limit tax payer funded healthcare to only United States citizens.

Immigration - It has to be easy and legal. If you're in the country illegally, you need to make it right or you need to leave. I'll work to make sure we have a path for citizenship AFTER we fix the way people get in to the country.

Military - The United States should be protecting the United States and our interests. No more troops in countries that does not serve the primary goal of protecting the United States.

Education - Get the federal government out of it. States can do this one. I would rather see no goverment in education, but until everyone has equal access to good education, there will need to be some regulations in place.

Taxes - Reduce taxes by reducing out of control spending. Everyone gets taxed the same. You shouldn't be penalized for being successful. You start paying taxes when you reach a certain income level, most likely being above the poverty line. Once you start making a certain amount of money, you pay a flat tax. No deductions, no loopholes. If you evade paying taxes, you pay what you owe and then go to jail for 1 year for every year you didn't pay your taxes. No exceptions.

Environment - Make reasonable policies for protecting the environment for the future while limiting the cost to Americans.

Drugs - Make them all legal for adults like we have done with marijuana in a lot of places. Jail people for life if they are selling to kids. No exceptions.

Law Enforcement - Police should be protecting the public from crimes that have victims. Get racists out of law enforcement. Make sure everyone is being treated the same. Lock up sexual predators and murderers for life. No excuses. Release everyone that is in jail for a victimless crime.

Foreign Relations - Stop sending money to other countries for nothing. I’ll find out why we’re subsidizing other countries and will continue that subsidy if it makes sense and I’ll explain that to the American people so they understand.
